postheadericon The No on Prop 19 gets desperate.

If you are running a anti-marijuana campaign and have no real ammunition to use, what do? That right you borrow from the past and come up with ludicrous scare tactics to hopefully scare the ignorant. No this isn’t any more of reefer madness, but in the same level of stupidity. Their website (which I will not link here) shows a wrecked school bus and car. I guess the inference is that your kids are gonna die when everyone is high. I got news for you folks, everyone is already high. And they are already driving (a thing that I do not advocate).

Now they come up with a new ad spot that is making the claim that if Prop19 passes, all your coworkers will not show up for work because they are high, every time you need medical help….the whole hospital will be high. They also claim that the Federal government is gonna shun you and take away you allowance because the whole state is high. Watch:

Ludicrous. But lets look at a man that smokes around 15 joints a day, while driving, while working as your stockbroker and getting his cannabis from THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Yep you guessed it, Irvin Rosenfeld. I am sure many of you have seen this, but lets just refresh our memory.

VOTE YES ON PROP19!

Dr. Joycelyn Elders calls for an end to marijuana prohibition.

Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the former Surgeon General to the United States, has officially come out against the prohibition of marijuana. Her main point are that we have criminalized a substance that is virtually harmless when we have far more dangerous substances that are acceptable and legal. We have created a system to jail many non-violent people for simply possession of a substance that has no danger to the user or people around the user. That marijuana does not cause violent behavior like alcohol, and in fact has the opposite effect. And she also touched on the legalization of marijuana would not only put out many Mexican drug cartels and ease the drug wars going on there, but states revenue to ease the current budget problems if marijuana were legal and taxed.

NO JAIL FOR WEED!

NO JAIL FOR WEED!

Four Washington State students, which included two WASU football players, were arrested this week when police discovered 38 cannabis plants growing in their rented apartments basement. The grow was only discovered after the police did a search of the house on an unrelated warrant. They then obtained a drug related warrant and arrested all four. They have since been released on their own recognizance. The Pullman police admitted that five or six marijuana plants is pretty common place, but 38 “was a big deal to them”. Well good on ya Pullman police, we can all sleep soundly knowing you have taken 38 deadly cannabis(oh my…) plants off the streets of your tiny city.

I hope these students don’t have to suffer to much for this “crime” of growing a plant that creates no danger to the community. I find it a bit disheartening how excited the Pullman police are about stopping this danger that is clearly in the category of jaywalking for its viciousness and destructiveness. Well actually jaywalking can cause a traffic wreck, so maybe not quite that level. Maybe next Pullman police can go around and tazer loiters.

OK sarcasm is over, but people, be smart out there. We do not need anymore people jailed for a non-violent ridiculous anti-marijuana law. Just because the doors are starting to lift off cannabis prohibition, does not mean the “justice” system has forgotten the propaganda and lies they have been believing for their entire life. They will arrested you and believe they are doing a service to their community. The less people in jail for possession of a plant the better. Be smart, be careful, and be safe.
